What is the strong point of yours about an engineer and recording studio?

We offer you the best prices along with a great atmosphere. John Seda has over 25 years of experience as a musician, producer and engineer. Our studio is designed to comfort the needs of today's demanding musician. We offer recording gear as well as instruments to perform on, in case of, that last minute inspiration when you wish you had that Fender Strat.

Why are your rates so low?

First of all, I want to clear up the myth about if the price is low, it must be no good. This myth does not apply to our studio. We love and feel extreme passion for music. Some people call that "Mad Love." We would not have it any other way. We offer you the atmosphere, the quality and the best price. Our mission is to provide the means at a affordable price to make you musical experience a pleasant one.

How long have you been in business?

6 years as Rising Sun Music. I had 2 other recording studios before this one under my previous recording label Brown Sound Records which was established in 1995. When I got married in Nov 2000, I was inspired by my wife to rename the label to Rising Sun Music Inc. From 1999 to 2003, we were solely dedicated to producing music and as of the end of 2003, we went full time into the recording business.

Who have you had the pleasure working with?

Taj Majal, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Wendy Melvoin, John Blackwell, Harold Acevedo, Millie Puente, Robert Lockwood Jr., Tony Bennett, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Eddie "Gua Gua" Rivera, Robben Ford, War, Victor Mendoza, Rick Latham, Dave Samuels, Giovanni Hidalgo, Jerry Martini, Cynthia Robinson, Greg Errico, Vernon "Ice" Black, Gali Sanchez, Raphet, Juan "Pericles" Covas, Tito Puente, Little Richard, Gran Combo, Edgardo Rodriquez, Karl Perrazo, Raul Rekow, Greg Bissonete, Zoro, Luis Aquino (Lead Trumpet for Yanni), Frank Ferrer, Adalberto Santiago, Quintin Berry, Pablito Rosario, Anthony Carrilo, Victor Payano, Cachete Maldonado, The artist formerly known as "Prince" Walfredo Reyes Jr., Ritchie Gajate, Fred Coury (Cinderella), Alex Acuna King, Charles Glenn (Ozone and DeBarge) and many more.

This is my first recording experience, and I want to know what should I do to prepare myself before entering a recording session?

Practice! Take time to prepare your musical arrangements and chops before entering the studio. Practice until your fingers bleed. I only say this to save you money. It consumes a lot of recording time trying to arrange the song in the studio. Of course, the best things are spontaneous, but that always happens anyway.

Do you charge for setting up the drums?

No, we don't. We start charging once we start the EQ process which is part of the art.

What kind of music do you records?

All genres!!  No exception.

How many instruments can you record at the same time?

My studio is designed to handle 2 guitars, 1 bass guitar, drums, and keyboards simultaneously with no problem. We have 2 Line 6 units 1 Bass Pro XT, 1 POD Pro XT which we run AES EBU and 1 Live Pod Pro Which we use to run direct. The Live Pod Pro is the portable unit which is used for more flexible applications. We highly recommend recording with these units for many reasons. No amp noise for one and the fact the we have it set-up where you can tailor your sound using Line 6 Edit Software. The possibilities are endless. As a guitar player myself, I know how important it is to a guitarist to achive your sound. We have not had a complaint yet. The set-up is awesome and flawless. Even though we record all music genres, our studio is custom tailored for rock bands.
